Catalog Description

Scope and Content: These records document the activities of Edgefield Manor and its earlier incarnations as the County Poor Farm and the County Home and Farm. The admissions records span the entire time and also include information about the County Hospital (with which it was co-located until 1912) and the Tuberculosis Pavilion. The administrative records fall into two major groups – one that documents the Poor Farm and one that documents Edgefield Manor, the adult care facility that existed from 1962 until it was closed in 1982. Records include correspondence, indexes, admissions registers, operational reports, photographs, maps, and case files.
